A doctor that lived on Atiarchy, though she was not officially licensed by the Empire, she continued to treat the refuges that came. Vernas was originally an illegal immigrant from the Flavian Trade Federation. She ended up on Atiarchy where she met Buba and fell in love with him. Unfortunately he had a life threatening disease and so she began to treat criminals to pay for the health expenses needed to cure his disease. When Mihli arrived, Vernas joined with the Black Tie Gang to try and extort her for money, the plan evidently failed and Vernas was forgiven by Mihli.
